No worries -- I just had a bit of a laugh when looking at some of those bokken shots. I've been studying Iaido for almost three years, and I've studied four different martial arts over the past decade and have my black belt in karate and kobudo. People with less training probably would love those shots, but to me they just remind me of watching my little brother trying to play with my weapons.

I appreciate your comment. I'm not a fighter myself (and therefore not a judge of realism!)--I just take photos of people who think they know what they're doing. If you want to download the "Action" piece then you can see how fast the model was moving and sort of see how hard it was for me to get good photos.

Basically, I just trust that my models know what they're doing (I'm mostly using people in martial arts and fighting associations) and then upload the photos hoping that someone will find them useful.

Stumbled across your account ... I'm glad to see some martial arts stock, but unfortunately, I think you need to do some training with the weapons you're using. Your "wooden katana" (they're called bokken) shots are especially poor quality, from a martial artist's point of view. I'd suggest looking up some of the classical weapons poses online or in books and studying these before setting up a photo shoot with a particular weapon.

Not to be discouraging -- I'm happy that more people are doing stock with traditional weapons -- but unfortunately, because of the lack of realism, these are not particularly useful.

:shrugs: Well Tay, that's just what happens when I no longer have your oppressive presence in the same state as me. o.O Or something. No, I've been trying to set up photoshoots with my fighter friends and it just happened that it happened when you were gone.
